Division 6 update – Cr Brooke Patterson

The year of the Tiger is off to a cracking pace. Just in the last week council has:

• carved out our 2032 strategy

• reviewed, with Queensland Treasury, our budget and the City’s financial health (we are looking mighty fine by the way), and

• determined a plan of attack on the HOTA masterplan.

I am honoured that the mayor has entrusted me to be Council Observer on the HOTA board - a position I do not take lightly. A transformed cultural precinct offering, which is built to last the next 50 years, is vital for the millions we expect to see living on the Gold Coast. To deliver this, the HOTA organisation must be in fighting fit shape. I looking forward to playing a key role in this.

Our new CEO, Mr Tim Baker, is a month into the job and already we can see his leadership taking shape. I look forward to introducing him to you soon.

As always, if there is anything you wish to discuss we would be delighted to hear from you - please call the office on 55816280 in the first instance.

Until next time,

Brooke
