The Southport Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the formation of the Chinatown Gold Coast Taskforce, a new sub-committee dedicated to revitalising Chinatown as a must-visit cultural and community destination. The Taskforce’s vision is to reimagine the precinct as a vibrant, family-friendly hub where locals and visitors alike can enjoy food, festivals, karaoke, and cultural exchange.

Building on the foundations established a decade ago, the Taskforce is planning a series of cultural events including the Mooncake Festival, Mazu Festival, and Spring Festival. Beyond events, their goals include supporting local businesses with initiatives such as outdoor dining and markets, promoting new accommodation and conference opportunities, and fostering partnerships with education providers and community groups.

The Taskforce brings together a passionate and diverse team of leaders from business, culture, and community, including Co-Chairs Stella Shen and Sherry Tong, Deputy Chair Lavinia Rampino, Secretary Lisa Gay, Treasurer Allan Godbee, and members Holly Liu, Ping Aspinall, Peter Cook, and Gerard Robb.

With a clear focus on collaboration and celebration, the Chinatown Gold Coast Taskforce invites the community to support this exciting initiative and help shape a future where Chinatown grows in vibrancy, relevance, and success.
