This past month has seen the Chamber working behind the scenes with CCIQ and Southern Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce to try to find a solution to the devastating impact on Gold Coast businesses from the hard border closure.
The NSW government won't come to the party by moving the border control south and businesses continue to suffer. Even members of our Chamber report being impacted by the hard border closure.
On a more positive note we had a capacity turn out to our Business After Dark networking event at the new HOTA Exhibitionist Bar in late July at which His Worship the Mayor gave the guests a snapshot of what is coming for Southport and HOTA CEO Criena Gerhke welcomed the guests and told us about the new gallery and coming exhibitions.
This week we supported the Southport State School - Southport Business Alliance breakfast at Southport Sharks, at which your Board member Ariana Margetts skilfully handled a question and answer panel discussion with Cr Brooke Patterson, Cr Ryan Bayldon-Lumsden and Cr Darren Taylor.
