Your Chamber had a busy month starting with representation at the City Heart Taskforce Reimagine Gold Coast Forum on Thursday 20 August at the Gold Coast Convention Centre. This was one of the first major in person events since Covid and was a very successful example of how Covid safe events can work..
Southport Chamber lead the topic "Southport as the CBD" with a team made up of Southport Chamber board members and representatives of our Corporate Sponsors.
I had the opportunity to present our ideas to the gathered dignitaries including Federal and State MPs and Councilors including the mayor Tom Tate. We will continue to drive our agenda of developing Southport as a world class CBD for the greater good of all businesses on the Gold Coast.
On Friday 21 August we hosted an exclusive Long Lunch Wine and Cheese function at GC business Hub which was an opportunity to support the sponsors and ticket holders of the last years "blown away" Long Lunch.
Our busy month culminated on Thursday 27 August with a combined event with Gold Coast Central and Greater Southern Chambers for a meet the candidate’s breakfast at the Convention Centre. This was a well-attended event with over 20 candidates for the coming state election from various electorates across the Gold Coast given an opportunity to address the large audience and give us all a snapshot of what they can bring individually and what their party says they will do for the Gold Coast.
Keep an eye on our Website and emails from us as we plan an event for all of our members at the Southport Yacht Club in September as a spring welcome to all members and in particular new members.
