Queensland business is everyone's business!
Now is the time for Queensland consumers and businesses to be depending on their own communities and local supply chains for goods, services, stock and resources.
Now is the time for Queensland consumers and businesses to be depending on their own communities and local supply chains for goods, services, stock and resources.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ) Chief Commercial Officer Alex Zafiriadis said by supporting the businesses that support Queensland, jobs, supply chains, and rural and regional communities.
“By supporting the businesses that support Queensland, we’re securing competitiveness, resilience and sustainability of Queensland’s businesses, industries and regional economies,” Mr Zafiriadis said.
“Many small and medium sized businesses in Queensland depended on supply chains and other businesses right here in Queensland for their stock and supplies.
“Often local manufactures, butchers, bakers, grocers, corner stores, services and trades and retail outlets already source their supplies locally, which for some is their point of difference to other larger competitors.
"Many businesses have been able to access stock and supply resources locally, or at least find a suitable alternative locally to allow them to continue trading."
Mr Zafiriadis said those businesses were also able to make the most of a consumer emphasis on supporting local business.
“There is a strong emphasis on shopping locally, with those retailers, professional services, trades and hospitality venues appealing to local and visiting consumers,” Mr Zafiriadis said.
“Those consumers know supporting local business means they are supporting healthy local economies and local jobs.
“What’s important now, as Queensland’s economy continues to adapt to new COVID trading conditions, is for businesses and consumers to be supporting the businesses that support Queensland.
“It’s essential we look to our local supplier, stockiest, outlet and service for what we need to day-to-day or to run a business, more than ever to make sure they’re still in business when we need them.
"Queensland business is everyone's business."
