Update from Cr Brooke Patterson

Since elected I have been championing for a significant event to be held in our CBD to showcase its potential. That is why I am so delighted to partner with Placemakers* Gold Coast in bringing the inaugural event, BIG CITY LIGHTS* festival to our patch.

Since elected I have been championing for a significant event to be held in our CBD to showcase its potential. That is why I am so delighted to partner with Placemakers* Gold Coast in bringing the inaugural event, BIG CITY LIGHTS* festival to our patch.

Watch as our CBD is transformed into a canvas of visual art installations and live music, including Nerang Street, Scarborough Street, Young Street, Davenport Street, Regent Lane and Davison Lane.

Just a few of the 25+ installations and activities to be expected at BIG CITY LIGHTS* include:

Quantum - witness Scarborough Centre painted in a 3D projection of images and lights, creating a unique and colourful moving canvas.

Bug Hunt - uncover a hidden world of digital bugs hidden over Southport Central in Young Street.

Iridescence – enter a spellbinding tunnel of lights and colour on Davison Lane where you’ll no doubt be taking photos of the magical experience.

Big City Eyes – watch neon eyes wink, blink and stare in this eye-catching installation! All eyes will be on you in Young Street.

Dancing Particle – become the art! Watch as you’re projected at large scale onto buildings in Regent Lane through the use of infrared sensors.

The festival is right around the corner, and it will be something you won’t want to miss. BIG CITY LIGHTS* is a free event and will run from 7 -10 July. Be sure to check it out, and for more information and a map visit: bigcitylightsfestival.com.au
