Annual General Meeting and Christmas Cheer
The Southport Chamber of Commerce Board of Management invites you to join us for our end of 2021 Christmas Drinks. An evening of networking and an opportunity to meet and mingle with like minded business professionals, fellow Southport Chamber members and their guests.
We will also be offering our very popular attendance draw - A Bottle of Sparkly and Chocolate Frog Bouquet with the compliments of one of our Corporate Sponsors Gold Coast Business Hub - Southport
We have the General Manager of the Yacht Club , Brett James, as our special guest speaker. Brett will give us an update on the Superyacht Berth that has been under construction all this year and is due to be ready by December.
Enjoy a glass of wine or beer on arrival with a selection of canapes offered throughout the evening at the Southport Yacht Club with beautiful views over the Broadwater.
The AGM is held at 5.00pm in the Board Room, followed by the Christmas Cheer networking on the Western Deck at 5.30pm.

About Brett James
Brett James is the General Manager of Southport Yacht Club, a not for profit association with over 100 employees. Comprising of four venues, SYC is the Gold Coast's largest Yacht Club with a continual growth in Membership and Community incentives.
Beginning his career as Golf Director at Sanctuary Cove, and onto Operations Manager at Emerald Lakes Golf Club Brett has over 20 years' experience in hospitality and sport management. Along with these credentials, Brett’s vast experience in leisure management and membership organisations bring a wealth of knowledge to assist in future contributions of the Gold Coast tourism operations.
Moving to the Gold Coast at the age of 4, Brett attended Aquinas Catholic College, continuing to furthering his education studies at Griffith University in Business Management.
Leaving Emerald Lakes Golf Club in 2009, Brett ventured to Christchurch, New Zealand to develop Pegasus Town, a vibrant and thriving community with a championship golf and sports club, dining facilities and a strong directory list of businesses. Leading to management roles in International and National sporting events in both New Zealand and Australia.
With his love for golf, Bretf became a Golf Professional in 2000, playing at major tournaments all across the globe whilst living in the United Kingdom, Japan, America and New Zealand.
Brett has sat on the board of the Southport Chamber of Commerce sector, with a great vision in sustainable and consistent growth for the Gold Coast.
Having lived on the Gold Coast for 40+ years, Brett has a great passion for our wonderful city and sees great potential in future progression, truly believing the Gold Coast is the best place on earth.
