September 2021 - President's Report

Your Chamber continues to engage with all levels of government, fellow Chambers and CCIQ to ensure you are informed and every effort is made to advance the interests of small businesses around Southport. Business sentiment ranges from devastation in some sectors, to hesitancy in others due to the uncertainty of possible lockdowns, to embracing opportunities in what some see as the new normal.

SouthPort Chamber attended the City Heart Task Force Reimagine 2.0 Breakfast and Forum with the Honourable Ms Angie Bell MP and many other city leaders. The Chamber attendees and guests, led by Board Member Ariana Margetts, focussed on Southport’s Health and Knowledge Precinct, bringing together executive leaders, developers and government officials from the precinct to identify ways to accelerate collaborative opportunities within the precinct, attract and retain talent and invest in innovation. You can read Ariana’s report in our News on our website or below in this newsletter.

You will shortly see notice of our AGM which will be held on 18 November 2021 at 5 pm in conjunction with a Business After Dark networking night.

Get your nominations in and turn up and vote, or send a proxy in to vote, for Board Members with energy and experience to continue to grow and drive what has been the fastest growing Chamber on the Gold Coast.
